Who He is
Herschel Pedersen was born on a small farm during a blizzard on February 7, 1929. In High school he was the state crop and livestock Judging champion fore crops three years running. He was all state in basketball and the outstanding future farmer for the state of Utah. He had the Grand Champion pigs in all classes for three years including reserve champion pigs .Brother Pedersen attended BYU on a Basketball scholarship and served his first Mission to Denmark 1948-1951. After he was drafted into the Korean War 1951- 1953, he returned to BYU to lay ball and was all conference three years and third team All American his senior year.
He has taught almost every class in the church except primary. He served as a counselor in the Elder’s Quorum, Elders Quorum President. Senior President and stake mission president in the old Seventies Program. Brother Pedersen has also served as Mission Representative and Regional Representative to the Quorum of Twelve, and on the Missionary Committee of the church. He has served as a high councilor and as Mission President at BYU. He taught Mission Preparation classes for seven years. He served as Mission President in Auckland, New Zealand and served a second mission to Denmark. He has taught mission presidents before they entered the mission field.
He has served as an Ordinance worker, counselor to the Temple President, and sealer for over twenty one years. Currently, Brother Pedersen serves as a sealer in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. He also teaches Gospel Doctrine and Institute.
